Baltimore city schools in poor repair

Following the city's mandated water turn-off and pipe flush for schools, Lyndhurst Elementary still showed levels of lead in its drinking water. Lead paint, contaminated water and crumbling facilities are not uncommon in Baltimore, despite state and federal health and safety regulations, writes Towson journalism student Jazzmen Tynes.Tynes compiled images, stories and interviews detailing only a few of the numerous challenges facing the city’s public education system and its school buildings.
