WYPR seeks intern with audio, Web skills
August 22, 2008
WYPR public radio is looking for an intern who has skills in the area of audio and Web development. The station contact reports:
Our primary task is to develop unique content at WYPR.org. We are currently producing two monthly shows and working with Johns Hopkins Medicine on the production work for all of their podcasts. This is a unique internship offering exposure to the broadcast side at the radio station but working with the Interactive group. We would like someone that is willing to give 15 hours/week.
Ideally, we want an intern who can help with the following tasks:
- concept development (coming up with story ideas, conducting research)
- transcription
- audio editing (Adobe Audition- wave file)
- interviewing (joining our full-time producer on interviews, perhaps conducting a few of their own)
- skills with recording equipment (recorder, mic placement etc.)
- editing (understanding of what it takes to take an audio project from start to finish)
- script writing
- content management (web development)
