York Daily Record is interested in meeting copy editor candidates

The York Daily Record/Sunday News is always looking for qualified copy editors. And while they don’t currently have a position open, they are hoping to bring in a few candidates for, at the very least, an informational interview for any upcoming openings.
Qualified candidates should have some newspaper experience, either through their college newspaper or an internship. Copy editors at the Daily Record/Sunday News are responsible for designing and laying out pages, editing local and wire copy, writing headlines and updating the Web site.

Society of Professional Journalists seeks summer interns

Every summer, SPJ offers two prestigious writing-based internships to qualified student journalists. The Pulliam/Kilgore Internships focus on Freedom of Information issues. One position is based at SPJ headquarters in Indianapolis. The other position is located in Washington, D.C., at the law offices of Baker Hostetler, SPJ’s legal counsel. Interns receive a stipend of $400 per week for the 10 week program. Applicants should be one of the following: entering senior year in fall 2009 or recently graduated from undergraduate studies in journalism; current graduate student in journalism; current law student with background in journalism. InsideLacrosse is looking for video interns for the spring semester of2009.We are looking for students and/or professionals to help create content that will be uploaded to our video player. Specifics tasks will include filming lacrosse games and interviews with coaches and players, editing footage into game highlights or features, and uploading to ILTV. Applicants must have some previous experience with Final Cut Pro editing software. This is a great opportunity to build college credit and a demo tape for your future. This is an unpaid internship with an emphasis on providing college internship hours, so we are flexible with tight schedules.
