Position description:
Will design engaging, creative news front and feature pages using photographs, graphics and type fonts. The qualified candidate must have strong editing and headline writing skills in order to correct errors in grammar, spelling, syntax, facts and improve clarity. Must be a team player and have a positive work style. Normal working hours will be Tuesday-Saturday, 3:00 PM-12 midnight; however, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, is required.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Graphic Arts, English, Journalism, or related program is required. Two years of page designing experience with a daily newspaper is preferred. Advanced computer keyboard skills, experience with News Edit, Illustrator, Photoshop and Quark (or InDesign) is required. Ability to develop information graphics is a plus. Faculty and friends bid fond farewell to Charles Flippen

Faculty, staff, friends, family and former colleagues gathered to honor Dr. Charlie Flippen on October 10, 2009 at Bluestone Restaurant in Timonium, Md.
Flippen, the former MCCS department chair and professor of Journalism and New Media, retired during the summer of 2009 after more than 30 years of dedication to Towson University.
Nearly 50 attendees had the chance to thank Flippen for his hard work.
“Charlie Flippen personified all of the qualities critical to being an emblematic chair: hard work, good judgment and integrity,” Professor Rick Vatz said.

Inside Lacrosse is looking for video interns for the spring, summer and fall
2010 semesters. We are looking for students and/or professionals to help
create content that will be uploaded to our video player. Specifics tasks
will include filming lacrosse games and interviews with coaches and players, editing footage into game highlights or features, and uploading to ILTV. Applicants must have some previous experience with Final Cut Pro editing software.
