Jenny Atwater
Jenny Atwater teaches Journalism/New Media 1 and 2, Broadcast Journalism 1 and 2, and Introduction to Mass Communication.
Atwater earned her master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism (1995). Her bachelor’s degree is in European History from Mount Holyoke College (1990) in Massachusetts. She started at Towson as a part-time instructor in 2003 and became a full-time lecturer in 2006.
Atwater came to TU with a background in TV news reporting. She spent 10 years reporting in local news, with most of that time spent in the Baltimore market. As a reporter, Atwater won two Capital Region Emmys along with several awards from the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists.
